Museum of Beer – Online Exhibit opens this month

Brew: Museum of Beer to open online exhibit this month
Remember Brew: The Museum of Beer? It was going to be a national attraction here in Pittsburgh.
That was in August of 2016, and the folks behind the effort acknowledged that they had a lot of work to do. About two years later, the project’s principals were awarded a $59,700 grant from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to start with an exhibit in a Downtown storefront, but that effort never found a home for reasons including COVID-19’s arrival in the spring.
Brew founder Joe McAllister says that later this month, the exhibit will launch online, a move OK’d by the PLCB and inspired, as he put it, “by the creativity and perseverance of the region’s breweries and restaurants.”
The exhibit, “The Story of Beer in Pennsylvania,” tells that story from Penn’s Colony to the present, with video interviews of brewers, historians, collectors and craft beer pioneers such as brewer Carol Stoudt. Viewers can click on points on a timeline and watch more in a gallery.
