The American Homebrewers Association reports that more than 1,900 brewers and would-be brewers participated in Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day earlier this month.
They brewed 1,970 gallons of beer at 152 sites worldwide.
In its ninth installment, the event attracted 550 new to brewing and 14% more participants than last year.
