Beer Pot Stew

Great around the Holidays

  • 2 or 3 lbs of stew meat, cubed
  • 1 envelope of dry onion soup mix
  • 1 - 10 oz. can of undiluted cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup
  • 1 - 12 oz. beer at room temp.
  • 3 or 4 cups of fresh mixed vegetables (pick your favorites) or a 24oz. package of frozen stew vegetables.

    Brown meat in a small amount of oil or butter, then place them in a large, oven-safe, covered dish. Add the onion soup mix and your choice of cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup along with the beer to the pot and stir ingredients together. Bake at 350degrees for 1 hour and 45 minutes, add vegetables, and bake for another 45 minutes. Entire cooking time, 2 hours and 30 minutes

    Serves 4-6
