The Publican, a trade publication, reports that Dixon took over the traditional role during an medieval ceremony called Beating the Bounds.

She is now officially known as the Landlady of the Parish of St Andrew-by-the-Wardrobe, the ancient name for that part of London, and was presented with a laurel wreath to mark the occasion. "It's such a privilege to be chosen as landlady of the parish and its been really good for all the loyal customers who are so proud of their pub," Dixon said.

She also presented a jug of London Pride to Pip Wright the Ale Cooner, the traditional name for the official taster of the City of London.
