Ask Real Beer

February 2000

I moved last year and found I have unopened cans of Schlitz and Old Milwaukee which I was told are no longer brewed. Is there any value in them for a collector?

From Beer Dave: Old Milwaukee & Schlitz are both still brewed. These brands are now owned by the Pabst Brewing Company. Unless the cans you have are the old "Flat-Top" style they probably hold little or no value. Schlitz used to always date their items. If you look close near the words Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company there should be a year listed. Check out www.bcca.com for more info on collecting Beer Cans.
