20th Annual World Brewer's Forum
The 20th annual KROC World Brewers Forum will be held on Thursday, October 2nd from 8pm - 12am at the Denver Marriott City Center. We hope that you will join us at the 20th Anniversary WBF. Come sample one or many of the 20+ homebrews on tap during the event. During the event, winners of the 8th Annual KROC Great American Beer Challenge will be announced, and medals will be given out. The entry window will open shortly. A drawing and a silent auction will be held during the event. Prizes up for grabs include gift certificates, glassware, t-shirts, growler fills, and more! You never know what's going to show up in our silent auction - previous years have included bags of grain, learn to homebrew kits, food tastings, beer for a year, and homebrew equipment. Brought to you by the Baltibrew homebrew club, the Charitably Charmin’ ChiliBrew is an informal, semiannual charity homebrew competition and chili cookoff, sponsored by Nepenthe Homebrew, Union Craft Brewing, Baltimore Clayworks, Brewtherville Labs, and Lady Brew Baltimore. This fall we will be gathering October 10th at Zion Lutheran Church (400 E Lexington St, Baltimore, MD 21202) from 7 pm to 10 pm! Last year we had 50+ entries and 500+ enthusiastic judges. That’s right, YOU choose the winners for 3 competitions: homebrew, veggie chili, and meat chili. A 3-judge panel composed of local food/beverage personas will also make their top picks. Ale Harvest Fest
Get ready hop heads! The inaugural Ale Harvest Fest, scheduled for Saturday, October 11th from 1:00-5:00 PM in Westmont’s Ty Warner Park, will feature over 80 unique beers from 40 brewers across the country with an emphasis on the hop harvest and other seasonal beers. Cask beers, infused beers, and collaborative projects will be available for tasting. Local restaurants, food trucks, and entertainment will be on hand. Organizers Lou Dog Events and Beer Dogging are excited to announce that the fest will also feature the championship round of the Illinois Professional-Amateur Brew Competition. Contestants of the competition submitted their home brewed beers back in July and two finalists were chosen. The homebrew portion of the competition was coordinated and judged by “Beer for Dummies” author and expert Marty Nachel. The chosen finalists have been teamed up with Urban Legend Brewing of Westmont and Flesk Brewing of Lombard to compete for the Illinois Pro-Amateur Brew Championship. Ale Harvest Fest attendees will be able to sample these beers and vote for their favorite. The winning home brewer will have the opportunity to bottle and sell their beer in local restaurants and stores.

Bramwell Oktoberfest
The Bramwell Oktoberfest is known for its excellent live musical entertainment, with traditional folk, blues, bluegrass and alternative artists performing throughout the day. Bramwell, the "Home of the Millionaires", is located near Bluefield on the Virginia/West Virginia Border near I-77 south. Tucked beneath Pinnacle Rock State Forest in a horseshoe bend of the Bluestone River, tiny Bramwell is said to have once been home to more millionaires per capita than any town on earth. The town is a hidden enclave of Victorian splendor amid the once-mighty Pocahontas coalfields. Welcome one and all to the 19th Annual Bramwell Oktoberfest. This years festivities will take place on Saturday, October 11th, 2014 between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm, featuring guided outdoor tours of the Bramwell Millionaire Row Historic District.

Delaware Homebrew Championship
Hop to it and get your beer recipes in order! Entries are now being accepted for the Second Annual Delaware Homebrew Championship to be judged during the Delaware Wine and Beer Festival on Saturday, October 11 at the Delaware Agricultural Museum & Village in Dover from 12 noon to 5 p.m. The event is an American Homebrewers Association sanctioned competition, meaning the champion brewer will be chosen by Beer Judge Certified Program (BJCP) judges. The team of certified judges will select the Delaware Homebrew Champion (first place) and second place winners. The first place winner will receive $1,000 in prizes and cash including a full-day “brewternship” at Fordham & Dominion Brewery; a two-night lodging package at MainStay Suites; a private tour, t-shirt and growler from Mispillion River Brewing; as well as cash and other prizes. Second place winner will receive a two-night lodging package at MainStay Suites and cash and prizes valued at $500. Top winners in each of the five brewing categories will receive medallions from the judges and trophies from the VIP voters. Brewing Quality in Western North Carolina
Western North Carolina is home to a quickly growing craft beverage industry as well as organizations offering support services for small and large brewers. This event will discuss some of those services, as well as other methods for ensuring quality in your finished product. Quality control methods covered will introduce a range of techniques, from sensory evaluation to laboratory analysis, so there will be something for brewers at all levels of experience and production. Eric and Tim from Highland Brewing Company will join us to talk about quality assurance and quality control considerations and challenges from the industry perspective. Highland Brewing Company is Asheville’s first legal brewery since prohibition, and a major player in Asheville’s craft beer scene. Producing 40,000 barrels a year, it has an established an in-house quality control lab and procedures. Eric and Tim will provide an insiders perspective on maintaining quality in the craft beer industry. After the main event, there will be an optional tour of the educational brewery used by the Craft Beverage Institute of the Southeast as well as BioNetwork's Natural Products Laboratory.
