Event Details

April 19, 2014 - Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Good Water, Great Beer Series: "Make & Take" Rain Barrel Workshop
Do you enjoy great free beer? How about clean water and a healthy environment? If so, join us at Fulton Brewery to build your own rain barrel! Not only will you bring home a ready-to-install rain barrel (valued at $80) but we’ll throw in a Fulton beer (normally $5)! You'll also learn what you can do to help protect clean water at home and in your yard. Make your yard river-friendly and bring home your own ready-to-go rain barrel. The workshop will begin with a presentation on how home lawn and garden practices impact our waters and how we can make a difference. We’ll discuss the watershed-friendly benefits of rain barrels in more detail, then review how to build them, incorporate them into your yard, install and maintain them. With guidance from FMR and Fulton staff, participants will then build a rain barrel to take home, but not before enjoying a free beer from our friends at Fulton Brewery. Event capacity is limited and registration is required ($30). A link to registration is available at this URL: http://fmr.org/participate/events/ ... 014-04-19. We hope you can make it!

April 26, 2014 to April 27, 2014 - Hunter, New York, United States
TAP-SM New York
TAPSM New York started out 17 years ago with a couple hundred beer fanatics and a handful of craft brewers at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, and has grown into the largest craft beer and food event in New York State. Craft brewing is alive and growing bigger than ever in New York State. The popularity of craft brewing has led to fuller bodied, flavorful brews featuring rich colors, bold flavors, and imaginative ingredients. People ask for it, and the brewers are answering. Many new craft breweries are opening every year, and we're both happy and proud to welcome them aboard. TAPSM New York has grown over tenfold through the years to now encompass the entire base areas at Hunter Mountain, plus added tent space. Around 100 breweries will be invited for 2014, representing well over 300 individual beers, offer everything from IPAs and lagers to wiesbiers, doppel and trippel bocks, stouts, ales... pretty much any variety you know of, and probably a few that you don't. TAPSM New York is also about food. Each year we offer plenty to eat. Daily cooking demonstrations will also show you some great ideas for your own kitchen. TAPSM is also a beer competition. Brewers from across the state enter their finest suds to compete for plaques and trophies. Each year on Saturday at TAPSM, highly qualified judges choose the best craft brewery in New York State and also the best brewery in the Hudson Valley. On Sunday, the panel of judges decide the best individual beers in both the Hudson Valley and the entire state.
