November 1, 2014 to November 2, 2014 - Hoover, Alabama, United States
Beer Garden Craft Beer Tasting
Taste the latest and greatest crafts from your favorite local brewer. Discover a great new beer or enjoy one of your local favorites, all under a wooded canopy of Fall colors overlooking the Moss Rock festival. Our 2014 Brewery Partners: - Avondale Brewing Company - Back Forty Beer Company - Cahaba Brewing Company - Good People Brewing Company - Trim Tab Brewing Company - Fairhope Brewing Company - Straight To Ale Brewing - Old Black Bear Brewing Company - Blue Pants Brewing Company Each participating brewery will be featuring a minimum of 2 select craft brews for tasting at Beer Garden. Bar/Restaurant Partners The J. Clyde is well known in Birmingham for their craft beer selections and food pairings in a unique setting on Cobb Lane. They are famous for securing and featuring some pretty special brews locally and beyond. This year Jerry Hartley, a local craft beer celebrity and owner of The J. Clyde, has arranged with brewery friends around the state to brew five exclusive casks to show off at their Beer Garden table. He will also showcase the restaurant’s famous fried sauerkraut balls, and possibly a new recipe he perfected during the World Cup. Jerry was instrumental in the craft beer movement in Birmingham, so we are ecstatic to have his expertise and discerning palette join us again this year. Moss Rock Festival welcomes Vecchia Pizzeria & Mercato as a festival co-sponsor of Beer Garden this year! Vecchia specializes in authentic brick oven pizzas, including gluten free options so that everyone can enjoy. Local produce and imported Italian toppings show their commitment and passion for the very best in everything they do. They’ve also got a variety of pasta dishes, panini sandwiches, salads, and delicious desserts! Vecchia’s drink menu has options for dining in or carryout. Boasting 18 craft beers on tap and over 50 bottled varieties, their participation at Beer Garden is a no brainer. They've even got growlers! Wine Partner Whole Foods Market will be showcasing wines to taste from the diverse offerings they carry. A formidable group of Team Members at WFM scour the world’s vineyards to bring you the fruits of the most talented winemakers’ labors. They’re always on the lookout for sustainable vineyard practices and organic & biodynamic wines, too. So the next time you’re in their wine department, stop one of their Team Members, many of whom are full-fledged sommeliers, and hit them up for answers. In fact, every Whole Foods Market store that sells wine offers wine classes where grapes, tastings and pairings are discussed — over a glass of wine, of course. Saturday Sessions 1:00pm – 2:30pm 3:00pm – 4:30pm Sunday Session 2:00pm – 3:30pm Maximum Capacity 200 people per session Tickets per session $20 Advance until Friday, October 31 $25 at the Door Nov 1 & 2 Click the Website link to purchase tickets. With each ticket sold online, the purchaser will receive a $10 Gift Card for both the J. Clyde & Vecchia! We recommend pre-ordering your tickets as this event could sell out. Talks, Tastings, Pairings & Demos Trevor Newberry, beer connoisseur, occasional beer columnist for Birmingham Magazine, and general manager & chef at Urban Standard, will be one of the features at the event’s Talks, Tastings, Pairings & Demos. This year we are excited to feature local beer experts to the Beer Garden for a homebrewing demonstration at both Saturday sessions. Since November 1 is also the 15th Annual Learn to Homebrew Day, this should be a special opportunity to see beer craft up close. 2014 Food features: Whole Foods Market - Assortment of Cured Meats - Artisanal Cheeses The J. You’d have to spend months and countless dollars for a chance to meet this many world-class brewers. We’ve saved you the trouble and the expense — they’ll all be on hand personally to talk about their work and to pour for you. And many will be creating special brews specifically for the event — you won’t be able to find them anywhere else! Admission to the festival gets you our special-edition sample glass, plus the opportunity to meet more than 70 of the best beer, cider, and mead makers in the world. The cost of admission also goes to covering the costs of the festival, including bringing these incredible brewers in from all over the world. Additionally, a portion of admission ticket sales will go directly to our nonprofit partner, Sharefest. (Seriously, check them out. They're awesome.) Upon arrival, you'll have the opportunity to purchase drink tickets, the entire proceeds of which will go to Sharefest. Each ticket is worth a two-ounce pour, and the pricing is as follows: $5 for 5, or a special deal of $20 for 24. Every producer listed will be on hand to talk about their creations. Never before have this many small-batch artisans been gathered together in one room — well, maybe at last year's festival. This is currently just a partial list, and we'll be updating it here, on Facebook, and on our website. We'll also have some fantastic chefs and food vendors on-site, as well as local iced coffee and kombucha producers for the designated drivers (and everyone else, of course). November 15, 2014 - Atlanta, Georgia, United States
The Ponce De Leone Beer Fest
The Ponce de Leon Beer Festival will be bringing out all local breweries to focus on a variety of styles. We are looking at this festival to be focused on the beer lover and brewer. This festival came about to help the Shriner’s raise money for the Children’s Hospital but overall it was brought about by a few people who really love beer and enjoy the idea of focusing on beer styles. Because of the festival being located inside the beautiful Yaarab Temple located on Ponce de Leon Avenue, we decided to move forward with what was at our door step…Ponce de Leon. He was looking for the Fountain of Youth and this was a perfect way of approaching breweries. We wanted to focus on style and overall…styles are constantly changing. To stay in a youthful mindset breweries always come up with fresh ideas. We wanted to deliver this “youth” to the public. After approaching the breweries with the concept we were happy to see that they were on board and ready to engage in this idea. With this festival we look to accomplish bringing out these new styles to the public and enlighten people on styles of beer. We would also like to surprise the beer lovers out there with new brews that they have not experienced. For example, many breweries are making a one off beer not available to the public yet. We are trying to keep it in a more intimate feeling with only allowing 1500 people in at the door. We feel this will be able to give the attendees more room to move around and try each beer selection. The 2014 event will be an amazing experience in taste and sound being held on November 15th 2014 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Tickets will be available soon…so be alert as they will go quick!
