Sacramento Beer Week
Like last year, the 2015 week's activities will be bookended by the Sacramento Brewer's Showcase at the California Auto Museum on February 26th, and the Capitol Beer Fest on the Capitol Mall on March 8th. The Brewer's Showcase is the premier event for Sacramento beer lovers, with exclusively local breweries (~45 miles of Sac), serving up some of their tastiest favorites and new brews (and you get to check out cool cars all night, which is pretty sweet). The Capitol Beer Fest is a huge event on the grassy mall in front of the State Capitol (also really cool scenery to taste some beers), including many California and west coast breweries in addition to some excellent national brewers. Last year this event drew around 5,000 people, so organizers are a little better prepared to handle the logistics, e.g., 3 times the port-a-potties as last year, multiple entrances, and expanding the event by another block down the mall.

6th Annual Hunahpu's Day Release Party
Hunahpu’s Day® The 6th Annual Hunahpu’s Day® Release Party is set for Saturday, March 14th, 2015 at Cigar City Brewing. This will also be the 4th time Hunahpu’s Day® has been featured for Tampa Bay Beer Week. The Beer In Mayan mythology, Hun Hunahpu was the father of the Mayan hero twins Hunahpu and Xbalanque. Hun Hunahpu, along with his brother Vucub Hunahpu, was tricked by the Dark Lords of the underworld and slain. Hun Hunahpu’s corpse morphed into a cacao tree, his head becoming a cacao pod, which in typically awesome mythology fashion, spit upon the hand of a young maiden named Xiquic who promptly became pregnant with the hero twins. The twins would ultimately grow up to avenge their father and uncle and defeat the Dark Lords and ascend to the heavens to become the moon and sun. We brew Hunahpu’s® Imperial Stout once a year and release it only at the brewery. We will continue to do so until the end of the cycle. “Pours extremely dark in color with a brown head with notes of big chocolate and espresso, moderate notes of vanilla and cinnamon and a mild tinge of tobacco and chilis. The flavor opens with a big blast of chocolate and moderate espresso with elements of dark toffee and interjecting threads of vanilla with lingering hints of cinnamon and tobacco and chillies notes with a mild scoville heat in the finish.” -Head Brewer Wayne Wambles

Spring Craft Beer Festival
March 21, 2015 Back for its ninth year in a row, the Spring Craft Beer Festival will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 2015 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. 50+ Brewers/100+ Beers More than 50 craft brewers from around the country will be in attendance, pouring samples of over 100 of their finest brews—the 2015 brewery lineup will surpass all years past. It will include new and award-winning breweries from Long Island as well as stellar craft breweries from across the country. The 60,000 sq. ft. exhibit hall will once again include a beer garden with a great menu of craft beer infused faire, giveaways from beer garden sponsor, and a relaxing place for friends to meet and relax. Returning this year, the SHIPYARD BREWING COMPANY is sponsoring the Silent Disco. A surreal party experience where the music is pumped through distributed wireless headphones instead of the speakers. A crazy sight to behold, even crazier to partake in. The event will be held at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum—1255 Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale, NY 11553. Everyone who purchases a ticket will get in. No tickets will be sold once the event sells out. All Ale to the Queen - Beer Carnival
The 2nd Annual All Ale to the Queen – Beer Carnival presented by Superfly Fablous Events, will be the ‘Official Closer of the Charlotte Craft Beer Week’ in 2015. All Ale to the Queen – Beer Carnival will be held on March 28, 2015 at Amos’ Southend in Charlotte. Once again All Ale to the Queen promises to be a “one of a kind” event and a “must do” for craft beer lovers in the region. All Ale to the Queen – Beer Carnival takes a different approach by focusing on the unique aspects of beer, with a little WOW factor mixed in. For those who are lovers of craft beer, All Ale to the Queen brings the Queen’s Twin Cloning Challenge, the Joker’s Wild Strain Brew Off with honeysuckle, peach and blueberry wildstrains from SouthYeast Labs located in the Carolinas, and a 10 Station Mixology Bar and Mobile Infusers infusing everything from Apple Pie to French Broad Chocolate. Attendees can expect outrageous fun at this event including music from DJ Allen Rockhouse, amazing aerial performers from Aerial Charlotte, Hula Hooping from the Beer City Hoopers, belly dancers, jugglers, contact ball performers, costumes and more. This is what makes the Beer Carnival a must see. And of course, a Beer Carnival wouldn’t be a Beer Carnival without a King and Queen Competition. The hoopla will surely be a source of laughs and good times, but rest assured, All Ale to the Queen is very serious about beer. In addition to the sampling of dozens of unique and original local and North Carolina brews, this festival will feature several fun ways to enjoy beer and invite the beer community to engage in a little friendly competition, all with the goal of creating awesome beer. Participants have the opportunity to choose which Grand Tasting they would like to participate in, with either the 1st Session Grand Tasting from 1-4 or the 2nd Session Grand Tasting from 5:30 to 9:30. 5th Annual Split thy Skull Barleywine Festival & Bottleshare
This is our fifth year doing the event and the second time we are taking the show on the road. We love the idea of turning our event which started as a customer appreciation store tasting into something that will also benefit the local craft beer scene a tasting of festival proportions!!!! We started with 13 different bottled Barleywines, the tasting evolved to feature over 50 Barleywine Style Ales, bottled, kegged, and casked of vintages up to twenty years old... We don't charge to attend this event-- though it is an invite only occasion, we will suggest a minimum donation of 20 dollars to attend... the money collected will be earmarked for a local charity... tbd We have been cellaring Barleywine since the start and can't wait to open our gently aging bounty along with all the newer releases that have come to Connecticut in the last year... Please respond (brewers, customers, beer lovers, barleywine heads) with any wisdom, questions, or just rsvp or bring us some beer! This is an invite only event so come by the shop, talk to the guys buy some beer and if you really love barleywine let us know, we will give you a ticket to join the event!!!
