Brewing with Bully Boy @ Hopsters
Hopsters, Newton’s first ever commercial brewery, and Bully Boy Distillers, Boston’s first craft distillery, are collaborating on a limited run of a small-batch specialty beer: a barrel-aged Imperial Stout infused with the flavors and aromas of whiskey and oak called Down Boy Stout. On September 11, 2014, Hopsters’ brewers and Will Willis, Bully Boy’s co-founder, will brew the beer recipe in Hopsters’ kettles on premise, along with twenty members of the public who reserve their spot in advance. Hopsters will also open its doors to the public and invites non-brewers to enjoy an expanded Bully Boy craft cocktail menu, available for purchase at the bar, and a meet & greet with Bully Boy co-founder Will Willis. After the boil, the beer will ferment and age in two new American Oak wood barrels that were once used to ferment and store Bully Boy’s handcrafted whiskey in their local distillery for three and a half years. After a 90-day slumber, the final product will be a malty, opaque Imperial Stout, featuring subtle notes of raisin, oak, and the one-of-a-kind caramel and nutty finish of Bully Boy’s own American Straight Whiskey. Brewing session participants will receive twelve 750ml champagne bottles of the exclusive barrel-aged beer style to enjoy at home and the remainder of the beer will be kegged and unveiled to the public for the first time during a tapping party at Hopsters on Repeal Day, December 5, 2014, the commemoration of the day the United States rescinded prohibition.

Pushup Throwdown 2014
FitWit, an award-winning outdoor group exercise program, is challenging Atlantans to test their limits in support of a good cause during the inaugural “Pushup Throwdown” on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Benefiting the FitWit Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides free fitness programs that build strength and develop character for young people who need it most, participants will gather at Wild Heaven Craft Beers brewery in Avondale Estates at 10 a.m. as friends and family pledge to donate money for every pushup performed. Presented by the FitWit Foundation, Wild Heaven Brewery, and Alternative Apparel, the Pushup Throwdown, will take place in waves from 10 to 11 a.m. Money raised will go directly to programming for providing free fitness and character building programs in high schools for youth not involved in sports - helping the FitWit Foundation reach its goal of being in 10 schools in Atlanta in 2015. Donations can also be made through flat rate amounts, but those who choose to brave the challenge will receive a t-shirt, a Wild Heaven Craft Beers tasting, brewery tour, access to the brewery patio party, and more with a $20 registration fee. While preregistration is suggested, walk up registration will be available on the day of the event. “So far, more than 650 youth throughout Atlanta have experienced our free fitness program through the FitWit Foundation that is designed for students not involved in sports. While decreasing obesity and improving fitness are important to us, our primary aim likes in using fitness as a vehicle to empower children to believe in themselves and strive for success every day,” says Josh Guerrieri, founder of FitWit and the FitWit Foundation. Dominion Brewing Company 25th Anniversary Extravaganza w/ a DC Debut + Meet the Owner Jerry Bailey!
ChurchKey Wednesday, September 17, 2014, 6 PM Dominion Brewing Company 25th Anniversary Extravaganza: "The Dream" DC Debut, Total Tap Takeover from Dominion Brewers Past & Present + Meet Founder Jerry Bailey! Join us on Wednesday, September 17th as we celebrate 25 years of beer from Dominion Brewing! This anniversary party will not only feature some of the finest brews from Dominion, but it will also mark the DC debut of their new 25th Anniversary Black India Pale Lager, The Dream. And we'll have a special guest of honor in the house for the festivities: Dominion Brewing Company Founder Jerry Bailey himself! Originally launched inside a small industrial park in Ashburn, VA in 1989, Dominion has grown from their core lineup of traditional ales & lagers to gourmet sodas, as well as their newly released award-winning Pinup Series. In 2007, the brewery forged a partnership with Fordham Brewing, and in 2009 relocated to their current headquarters in Dover, DE. The Dream, one of over 10 Dominion brews we'll feature on draft, is named after the brewery's belief that we're all just, ‘Livin the Dream’. This Black India Pale Lager pays homage to the hard work, passion, and effort it takes to operate a small brewery. It is also a nod to Dominion’s lager brewing roots without compromising their love and affection for hops. This beer's rich, robust malt foundation is balanced by a righteous blend of Sorachi Ace, Citra, and Columbus hops showcasing melon, tropical fruit, lemon, and licorice notes. In addition to the lineup of Dominion drafts, we'll be filling each and every one of our 50 draft lines and 5 cask engines with an array of beers sourced from 7 breweries who've inspired, created, supported and drank with Dominion over the past two and a half decades. This collection of breweries includes: Lost Rhino Brewing Co., Old Ox Brewing, Victory Brewing Co., Starr Hill Brewing Co., Lagunitas Brewing Co., Bell’s Brewery, and Mad Fox Brewing Co. Many of the Brewery owners & brewers will be on hand to celebrate this amazing milestone!

The Goose Island 312 Urban Block Party
Goose Island Beer Company and WXRT present the third annual 312 Urban Block Party. Once again, Goose Island will be rolling out some exclusive and rare beers from their secret stash in the brewery. If you missed the recent collaboration beers, SVE Kolsch and Recommended Pils then this will be your last chance to give it a try. SVE Kolsch was made with musician Sharon Van Etten and Recommended Pils was made in collaboration with the Pitchfork.com team using the 'fountain of youth' water hand pumped from the Schiller Woods Cook County forest preserve. Our Fulton and Wood series, which happens to be the location of the brewery and the entrance to the fest, will also be pouring from the taps. We promise great live music on two stages –with one being dedicated to local acts, our local anesthetic. Goose Island's first block party took place 22 years ago, we promise to stay in the spirit of a neighborhood fest and not bring you a table full of cheap sunglasses or a 'food' stand of elephant ears, just good beer, local food, great music and Chicagoans having a good time. Stay tuned for the announcement of local acts and a barrel aging seminar (meaning drinking beer and talking barrels) led by the Goose Island brewers. Cheers!

Pump[KY]n Release Party
Presenting Pump[KY]n, the newest member of our Annual Barrel Series! What’s in a name? Sometimes the simplest can be the most descriptive, and in this case, derisive and divisive!
