Bell’s Le Contrebassiste Tapping and Tap Takeover
Be one of the few in Chicago to try Le Contrebassiste, a reimagined version of the brewery’s Jazz Series beer of the same name at this Bell’s Brewery tap takeover. The 2015 release is a rustic brown ale brewed with Brettanomyces yeast for a funky, fruity, light-tart finish. There are only four quarter barrels of Le Contrebassiste in all of Chicago, and the first will be tapped at this event. Rye Stout, an Eccentric Café pub exclusive rarely seen outside of Kalamazoo, Michigan will also be tapped, and the last few barrels of the 2015 releases of Hopslam Ale and Smitten Golden Rye Ale have been reserved for the event. Two year-round drafts, Amber Ale and Two Hearted Ale, round out the lineup. Monica Mooney provides Bell’s beer education during the event. Free raffles and giveaways during the party include hats, T-shirts and other logoed Bell’s gear. The beers will be tapped at 4 p.m. and the event begins at 6 p.m. Tuman’s Tap & Grill is open from 4 p.m.-2 a.m. on March 4 and the kitchen is open until 11 p.m. The event is free to attend and beer prices range from $5-$8 each.

Voodoo Beer Dinner
OTB Bicycle Café and Voodoo Brewery are teaming up at the North Park Boathouse to bring you an unforgettable evening of dinner and drinks! This unique beer dinner will consist of a four course custom menu designed by OTB's Chef Eric Strafalace. Voodoo’s Matt Alyn will take it from there to perfectly pair each menu item with a specialty hand crafted beer. Voodoo & OTB guarantee one awesome and delicious evening at the Boathouse! Eric Strafalace has carefully crafted the following menu: Appetizer: Jalapeno Rockets Fresh jalapeno peppers stuffed with shredded chicken, cheddar and cream cheese. All wrapped up in homemade candied bacon. Salad Course: Mango Thai Shrimp Salad Sauteed shrimp tossed in a spicy sweet chilli glaze over a bed of bibb lettuce. Topped with bean sprouts, cucumbers, diced mangos, toasted walnuts and red onions. Served with a side of homemade ginger vinaigrette. Main Course: Dinner Options Braised Beef Short Ribs 8 oz. beef short rib braised in a brown ale and herb infused red wine, over a roasted cauliflower puree. Served with a side of roasted Brussels sprouts. Or Your choice of: 8 oz pan seared salmon or 6oz chicken breast brushed with an orange wheat beer glaze, topped with a mango chutney, over a bed of citrus couscous. Served with a side of roasted Brussels sprouts. Dessert: Homemade Pecan Pie *vegetarian options available upon request! ... and if that isn't tantalizing enough, here is the beer that you have to look forward to: Wynona’s Big Brown Ale Brown ales seem to be there, but not really there, you know?! Well that won't be the mistake with Wynona! This beer is hoppy and smooth with hints of chocolate and tons of brown malt to let you know it's there. H2P (aka Hail to Pitt) H2P is an 8.0% west coast-style IPA brewed with four kinds of malted barley and a ridiculous amount of Simcoe hops with five kettle additions and two dry hops. The nose of the beer is rich in pine and fruit notes, with hints passion fruit, apricot, along with woodsy and floral undertones. Medium bodied, this beer starts with a mildly bitter taste that gives way to the pine and fruit notes found in the nose on the back end. H2P is a bright and crisp IPA that was designed to be highly drinkable, exceedingly flavorful and aromatic, but without being abrasively bitter. White Magick of the Sun This White ale is made with a little Voodoo Twist. They use house Tripel yeast and add the average unmalted wheat, wheat, barley and just add more of each. Hopped evenly and spiced with coriander, bitter orange peel, juniper and Jeremys' favorite spice to remain a mystery... Voodoo Love Child Voodoo’s Belgian Style Trippel aged on intimate fruits of Passion Fruit, Raspberry and Cherry. Lightly spiced with corriander and curqua orange peel and other spices of passion. Light Reddish hue and with a alcohol strength of 10.5% and nicely carbonated in the bottle. Get your tickets today before they sell out!

No.9 Park & Night Shift Brewing Beer Luncheon
No. 9 Park and Night Shift Brewing are teaming up to offer a 4-course luncheon served family style with each course paired with a different beer. Sunday March 29th, 2015 Starting at 1pm $65 Reserve by calling 617-742-9991 No. 9 Park wanted to host a beer luncheon with Night Shift Brewery in Everett, MA that pairs the particular qualities of beer with flavors from our food while highlighting the change of seasons. We’ve thrown many events in the past that partner wine producers from around the world with our chefs, and we wanted to offer the same experience with beer. The luncheon will start with charcuterie before moving onto the fresh seafood that New England is known for, such as clams cooked in beer served with barley corzetti, ground rapini, and breadcrumbs. The menu builds towards heartier dishes that include “trio of pork:” seared pork loin finished with a beer glaze, beer braised pork shoulder, and pork rillettes seasoned with beer served with fava bean pesto, smashed potatoes, and chicory. Night Shift has chosen beers to mirror the progression from light to full styles with a couple of twists. No.9 Park usually only opens for lunch once a year during the month of December, but because it’s always so much fun we wanted to offer a specialty lunch again. We’re always looking for beers that are dynamic and add to the conversation of fine dining, especially ones that pull from old world traditions. We’re excited that we’ll have the brewers and owners of Night Shift in house for guests to chat with throughout the luncheon.
