Financial Report Sees Stiff Price Competition and Mergers Coming; Small Brewers Most Vulnerable. A financial Report by Robinson-Humphrey in Atlanta says the decline in public stocks of craft brewers is a signal that the high growth rate of craft brewing may be cooling and mergers coming. Anheuser-Busch will lead merger wave with selected regional players.

$255 Million Missouri Casino Will Feature High-Tech Brewpub; Fourth Largest Casino Has Ties to Gordon-Biersch. Station Casino Kansas City will open in January on floating barge in Missouri River; 140,000 sq. ft. complex will have two tower hotels, 3,000 slot machines, 190 gaming tables, 1,400 seat arena, 12 restaurants -- and a 15-vessel, 30-barrel brewhouse from Liquid Assets. Brewing equipment will be computer controlled with remote modem operations.

Mendocino Launches Second Direct Offering to Raise $5.1 Million For Ukiah Brewery; Opening in Early 1997. Hopland brewery will sell 600,000 shares at $8.50 a share to expand Ukiah brewery to 60,000 barrels/year.
