The fall 1997 seasonal from New Belgium is the
Porch Swing single malt
ale. A clear dark straw color, its smooth malty flavor is matched with a medium
body and creamy mouthfeel that finishes on the hoppy side. Great for the warm
temperatures of summer and fall. In the summer of 2002 the winds of green power
generated Loft Beer. The
bottled version pours a clear, dark straw color with a dense white head. Aromas
reveal a hoppy, slightly musty character. The well-carbonated, light-bodied
brew offers a full mouthfeel with where an early hops flavor dominates the very
light maltiness before finishing dryly. The stamped "best before" date showed
another two months in the flavor window, but it didn't last that long in the
fridge before being opened.
