1998 Colorado Brewers Rendezvous
Again one of
this year's best outdoor beer festivals, the Colorado Brewers Rendezvous
held in Salida, Colorado over the 4th of July weekend 1998 raised much needed
revenue for the craftbeer industry to lobby the state legislature and offered
beer drinkers an incredible venue to sample some of the best brews of the
Rockies. There were rarely lines at the beer sampling or recycling areas and
the weather cooperated by only raining after the afternoon events had
officially closed and before the fireworks spectacular began. An insider tip to
all visitors to this tiny watersports town on the mighty Arkansas, bring your
own food for Saturday dinner since restaurant lines are atrocious, and don't
leave town without a few full growlers from Il Vicino Pizzeria. Savvy visitors
reserve spots early at the great local campgrounds where the locals say "the
fishin's always bitch'n." Support your local brewers and have a great time on
the fourth in Salida, where the pours are reasonable, the atmosphere
accommodating and friendly brewers behind the taps are always willing to please
and eager to talk.
