Spokeswoman Michelle Sullivan said the company, which makes Samuel Adams beers, might expand one of its two breweries in Boston and Cincinnati. "We just started these meetings two weeks ago," Sullivan said. "We're very early in the discussions."

The Standard-Times reported that Freetown, Mass., could be the winner. The new brewery would be housed in a 250,000-square-foot facility in Campanelli Business Park and create 50 to 75 full-time jobs, according to a letter from Boston Beer Co. to Freetown selectmen. It would cost $75 million to $90 million to build, according to Jeffrey D. White, the Boston-based brewer's chief operating officer.

Boston Beer Co. also is meeting with other towns in Massachusetts to discuss potential brewery sites.
