During the first American Beer Month in 2000 Realbeer.com asked some of our friends in the beer community to taste a few American beers and share their notes. Warning: Do not read these without an American beer in hand.

July 1: American amber and pale ales

Award-winning brewer Todd Ashman of Flossmoor Station Brewing revisits beers that have inspired him as a brewer: Anderson Valley Belk's ESB, Full Sail Pale Ale, Hair of the Dog Golden Rose and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.
