Cruzcampo beer, please...

I am looking to acquire Cruzcampo beer, a tasty beer from Spain. Its parent company is Heineken. It's becoming quite the search to find it. I found a post from another board that a person bought a case of it from Liquor Direct in Southgate, KY. I can trade any kind of Kansas City beer or cash if anyone can find it.

Welcome to the board. Did you drink this beer while in Spain? Please tell us a little bit about it.

definitely

Thank you for the welcome....I enjoyed this beer immensely while studying in Spain...like with most beers, people have a wide variety of opinions on its taste. I found it to have almost an almondy aftertaste, which I found pleasant. I spent time in Spain about 5 years ago, and this has been an on-again, off again search for it. Unfortunately, I could only bring back 2 40 oz containers with me. (I didn't have room for anymore) Apparently, Heineken had talked about bringing it to 23 states, but I never found out if that happened. Mostly, I am looking for this beer to rekindle memories, share experiences, and for a great taste.

If it is available in the States, someone here will know. Good luck in your search.

I found it, but I can't get it

I found it served in some restaurants....

Grizzly's
Quencher's----both in Chicago

And a place called La Tasca in the D.C. area...

So far, it seems like Cruzcampo is distributed to restaurants...I found a distributor who only deals with businesses in Illinois.

So close, yet so far away.

I live in the DC area. If anyone has it it would possibly Chevy Chase Liquors. Here is their site:

http://www.chevychasewine.com/

Contact them and see if they have it. If so, I'll drive over and pick some up for you.

thanks, anyway

I checked Chevy Chase Wine...their selection is great...but alas no Cruzcampo...hopefully I can convince my wife to make a trip to Chicago...if I'm meant to drink Cruzcampo, it'll happen...my wife half-jokingly said it won't be as good as I remember anyway, she's probably right.

We have plenty of Chicago members on the board here. Hopefully one of them can help you locate it.

You might check with this store.

thanks!

The DiCarlo website has it...I haven't placed my order to see if it's in stock, but I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for all your help, it is greatly appreciated. After I refresh my taste buds' memory of Cruzcampo, I'll be looking to try some new beers, especially that Dogfish beer that won the contest on the website.

I've also been thinking I need to get my hands on that beer. Might have to set up a trade soon.

I was disappointed that Dreadnaught did not win. I like Dogfish head and visit the brewery fairly often.

My beach place is down the road in OC. I often take the DE route through Rehobeth to get there. Or sometimes I just head up to Rehobeth for fun. There is a Rams Head Tavern there too with the Fordham beers.

Angry can't believe it

To ship my beer order, Dicarlo's said it would be $13.00, is this a normal average price to ship beer? I understand since a person would be shipping glass there might be increased cost....but that seems a little high.
