wine okay in some states , beer no!

W.T.F.? why is wine okay to ship and not beer?

i read that when they repealed prohibition, it became legal to make wine, but not beer. this was because of a typo: it was supposed to read "wine and/or beer", but somehow the "and/or beer" got left out. maybe this is a vestige of that?
