There's a lot of talk about what wines to pair with dinner, but what about beer? You wouldn't dare put Bud on the table after you spent 24 hours cider brining your turkey. Here with his favorite craft beer picks for the Thanksgiving table is Tony Yanow, owner of Golden Road Brewing, Tony's Darts Away, and Mohawk Bend. These are his top 5 California craft brews for the big feast:
TAPS Pumpkin Ale
"This is a medium bodied with a good bit of fall spice, it’s a delicious beer to celebrate the season. You can find it at fine tap houses or get a growler at TAPS in Corona or Brea," says Yanow.
Russian River Blind Pig IPA
"This is one of my all time favorites. It's nicely hoppy, but with a toasty note that pairs well with just about everything on the table, he says. "Good luck finding it this season - I'm buying all of it!"
Golden Road Hefeweizen
"There's nothing like a crisp Hef to help cut the heaviness of a big meal. This fits the bill," says Yanow. "Fine retailers including Whole Foods, Vons, Ralphs and Trader Joes shoudl carry it -- or come and get it at Golden Road Brewing."
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
"These guys are still at the top of the craft beer heap for good reason. You can snag a quick case of this on the way to grandma’s and share a great beer everyone can agree on. And it's sold everywhere," Yanow says.
Lost Abbey Judgment Day
"When you’re done stuffing your face and it's snifter time, there's nothing better than relaxing with this deep, rich beer," he says. "I buy it at Cap N' Cork on Hillhurst Ave."
