Today my Bud Rep at work brought me a Schlenkerla Rauchbier. We split it and then had a couple Buds. All in the name of work, not a bad way to start the shift off...
Just tapped a sixtel of Great Lakes Wright Pils at work. Very nice tasting pilsner beer. Before that had on a quarter keg of Rochester Mills Milkshake Stout. I didn't drink much of that one since it's a sweet stout brewed with lactose and I'm intolerant. It did taste nice and rich though. I'm trying to give people a better beer choice than just the BMC's that everyone seems to want at this golf course.
Tonight, mostly Founders KBS 2011 & 2012 on draft. Sensational brews
I still have some of my homebrew clone of KBS and have brought some bottled from the corny keg to work. Last week I shared one with a customer who seemed to be into craft beers. After he drank one, he asked me if I really brewed it or was passing off the commercial beer as mine. I laughed and said, no, I brewed it. Then he told me he used to be an assistant brewer at Bell's for 3 years and I'm in the wrong line of work if I'm the manager of a golf course and not brewing professionally. Then he asked me for my business card because he wanted to introduce me to some people in the industry. I laughed and declined, thanking him for his comments and explained I'm not interested in making this a job, I enjoy it too much for that.
Of course, that's all assuming he was telling me the truth...
Full Sail Brewer's Share of their Berliner Weiss. This is a very nice summer beer. I find it to be refreshingly tart with a good hint of lemon in the taste.
I'm drinking the first glass of my alt. It looks like mud, but the taste is not bad and should improve a lot since it's only been in the keg since Friday.
I guess it's about time to get a beer and start cooking. Last night I had a Star Hill Boxcar Pumpkin Porter. It was much more drinkable than I expected it would be. Right now it's a Yazoo Hop Project. Tasty but nothing special.
