I went old school last night with Ballantine. I felt like it was 1977 again, even though I was 3 in 1977.

Too bad it wasn't the Ballantine Burton. In 77 I was 20. Drinking age was 18.

Great Lakes Holy Moses

For an encore, I will be pouring a bottle of Hennepin in about 2 minutes.

Tonight at our brewing club meeting it was:

Snoqualmie Falls International BadAss - (nice malty "no style" Blonde ale. A mix of British malt, Czech hops & American ale yeast )
Ommegang Hennepin - guest tap
Snoqualmie Falls Summer Beer - nice CAP
Snoqualmie Falls Copperhead Pale Ale - my fav local Am. Pale Ale

And a tiny taster of Brewdog's GetReal IPA.

Nothing right now, but later I will be enjoying Highland's Gaelic Ale or Black Mocha Stout. I picked up 2 cases of each in Asheville last month.

Tuesday evening I had

Bells Two Hearted on cask
Bluegrass Brewing Raspberry Hefe on cask(?)
Bluegrass Brewing Hefe
Bluegrass Brewing Pale Ale
Bluegrass Brewing Bourbon Stout
Bells Two Hearted on cask
Bluegrass brewing Bourbon Stout

And I think there was another Bluegrass beer somewhere in there.

It was a protional Bluegrass Brewing event obviously. I thought they had guts putting a raspberry hefe on the firkin. Never seen anything like that on really. And it worked. I'm not a big hefe or American fruited beer fan and I would not necessarily seek out any of thier beers. They are all good but nothing sets them above or out from most of the other beers available in the DC metro area. I am glad they are trying to expand into this area though. They were very nice guys and I wish them the best. As usual, The food and service at Rustico was impeccable.

Since I'm going to a Mexican restaurant for the 18th going away party for a coworker in the last year this evening, I'm guessing I'll be going for Negra Modella. Last night I went with Brooklyn Brown and DFH 90 minute IPA -- you know, similar beers.

You know, I could have been content with that alone.

Water. I went home for lunch, my wife has 3 brothers and a sister in law over for a month. The wife is drinking Santa Margherita Pinot Grigiot, one brother is dring Ricard and water, one Crown Royal on the rocks, and the sister in laws and the 3rd brother are drinking my porter. At least they aren't bashful about serving themselves.
