I was in the mood for a nice dark Belgian so I tried my homebrewed quad. Half a glass and the keg died. So I looked around the fridge and found a Maredsous 8. That'll work for me.

Yep. Fairly new within the last year. Tallboy, 1/2 liter style that keeps the skunkies out! They usually come in 4 packs (like Guinness Pub Draughts), but I have a local grocery that sells singles. Nice for after work -- where else can I get a 20 oz. beer for $1.60?

The Indiana folk have said they haven't seen the cans, not sure about Michigan's distros.

I tried out a new to me bar last night -- I had a Berkshire Brewing Company Raspberry Strong Ale on cask, a St. Bernardus prior 8, a Dupont Biere de Miele and a Lagunitas Hop Stoopid.

Paulaner Salvator; thick, off-white/light tan head, clear, rich, dark coppery brown color; bready, toasty, mildly toffee nose; flavor all of the same, but the toffee evolves to the melanoidin flavor of a dry finish; vague bitter hops in aftertaste, spiciness from alcohol in finish. Medium body with a soft mouth-feel.

I can imagine spending a relaxing afternoon at the Salvatorkeller with a good book and a few 1/2 liters of this one -- wiling away a day.

I should have bought 2. Prosit! Everyone, have good weekends.

Just finished a Boulevard Nut Cracker. Trying to figure out what to go for next. Steveh may have talked me into a dopplebock. I do have a couple of Capital Blonde Dopplebocks in the beer fridge, hmmm...

Tonight im drinking my latest attempt at a czech pilsner. Seemed to be a crowd pleaser but when 90% of the poker table drinks bud light its not really a suprise.
