What did you think of the Brooklyn Local. I saw many bottles on the shelf at a place I know in Ocean City. I was tempted.

Great stuff. I have had several bottles. It is a really nice American imitation of Duvel.

Last night while out for ribs with friends, wife and I shared a couple of New Belgium bombers of Fat Tire ambers.

Right now, Paulaner Oktoberfest, still terrific.

I have a bomber of Kill Ugly Radio. I'm a big Zappa fan from way back.

Today:

A glass of Bill's cask at Vintage 50
A pint of his pale ale and stealth which was a double IPA
and a glass of the Kolsch. Now drinking the ESB from the growler and I also brought one of his Oatmeal Stout.

Just finished the Gaffel 1396 Kolsch that our former exchange student sent to us from Cologne, Germany. It was a bit darker or amberish than I thought it might be. Very tasty and it would be nice to have another.

No but a buddy of mine went and said it was great. Exceeded his expectations. I have watched some ZPZ songs on Youtube and now am sorry I begged off that night.

Had a Baltika 7 and 9 last night. I was pretty impressed with the 7. Seemed like a pretty decent little pilsner to me.

Had an August Schell FireBrick Vienna Lager as a nightcap last night. Haven't had one in a while, what a nice beer. Reminds me of the AS beers I discovered some 20 years ago.

Last night: Sampled each of 9 homebrewed meads for potential adjustments. Hydrometer checks on 2 homebrewed beers. 1 bottle homebrewed cider and 1 bottle homebrewed Czech Tmave (which turned out too high ISG, and is more like a very smooth bock)

Primary #1: Brett IPA, with Simcoe and Amarillo
Primary #2: Czech Dark Lager (Tmave) (in a chest freezer at 50F)
Secondarys: Saffron Mead, Mint Mead, Blueberry-Ginger Mead, Sage Honey Mead, Fireweed Honey Mead, Peach Ginger Mead, Peach Raspberry Mead, Imperial Orange Blossom Mead (>19%), Blackberry Mead

On Deck: Tettnang IPA
After That: Rauch Doppelbock
