El Segundo Night at SD Toronado

Good morning,

Tonight, we're happy to be bringing you six delicious draft beers from the El Segundo Brewing Company. ESBC is in the South Bay (Los Angeles, that is) and we think they're making some really good beers. Those of you that have tried their Citra Pale Ale here at the bar know what we're talking about. Beginning at 6 pm, we'll have the Citra, Blue House IPA, White Dog IPA, Hyperion Stout, Vanilla Hyperion Stout, as well as a keg of their 10.2% imperial stout, the Standard Crude. Come join us tonight for some of LA's best beers right here in San Diego.

Speaking of joining us: we are having our Alpine Beer Brunch this Sunday at 10: 30 am. We've had signs up at the bar, and we assume it's been on Facebook, but we realize that we have been remiss in mentioning it to you via this email. So we're sorry about that. The good news is that there are still tickets left, but we wouldn't wait too long (it's Alpine). Nate has 6 courses lined up that we'll be pairing with some of their amazing beers (Keene Idea, Nelson, etc.) so hurry to Brown Paper Tickets (yes, we've switched services) and search either us or Alpine and grab yourself a ticket or two. The bad news is that will be closed to the "public" until 2pm this Sunday to accommodate the brunch; the good news is that Sunday is a de facto Alpine Day whether you attend the brunch or not. We'll see you here.

In other news, we have a fresh batch of hooded sweatshirts and T's at the bar today. And we experienced a bit of weirdness re those "other" shirts that we'll explain in a later email, but they are slowly grinding towards completion as well. We will keep you posted. Lagunitas Sucks is back; we were fortunate to get a couple more kegs so definitely have one of those if you missed it last week because it won't be around for long. We have a couple of bottled beer specials at the bar right now: 2 Belgian abbey-style ales from Brouwerij Van Eecke, the Kapittel Prior (9% abv) & Abt (10%) Ales that we're selling for just $4 a bottle. We also recently opened a bottle of Brux, the now 11 month-old collaboration between Sierra Nevada and Russian River and thought it was really delicious. This "domesticated wild ale" is really coming into it's own, and although it should continue to improve for a while, we're putting a limited number of bottles on sale through the end of the month in hopes that some of you will try this great beer. So, that, and look forward to a night of New Belgium beers next week with beers like La Folie, Tart Lychee, their new Imperial Coffee Stout and more on draft. Stay tuned, and as always, thanks for the support.
