Well it looks like it's going to be a nice day... we suggest heading up to Pizza Port in Carlsbad for the 4th Annual Brewbies Fest. As for us, we just returned from Lagunitas (we didn't inhale) where we joined George from Urge Gastropub, Mike from Raglan Public House & Hannah from the Regal Beagle in making a beer that will be available soon in the San Diego market. Our goal of making a hoppy, sessionable ale somehow became what should be a big strong hoppy IPA. We're looking forward to it.
And speaking of large hoppy IPA's that people look forward to: Russian River Brewing Company's Pliny the Younger will be here this week! Yes, it's that time of year again, and there have been daily 4 hour lines at their pub in Santa Rosa. We're not trying to be coy about the arrival date but we're receiving slightly contradictory info on exactly when it hits town, and we'd don't want to cause any problems for the people who make and/or distribute the beer. This much we will say: It will go on tap as soon as hits our door, just like we always do it. That could be around 10am on the morning of Wednesday the 13th, or it could be Thursday the 14th. We will tap another keg on Sunday the 17th at 11:30 am, so those of you with "real jobs" don't have to send us angry emails! We think this beer is best consumed fresh, and whatever we get will be gone within 5 days or so. We will give you a definite date on Monday evening. Thanks, and remember: Brewbies today!
