FORT WORTH — Local music production company Spune announced Friday that Untapped Festival will take place April 20, 2013. The inaugural Untapped Festival — a beer and music day party, we’ll call it — took place in Dallas in September 2012. The next 2013 event will be in Fort Worth, with the location not yet announced.
A Dallas installment of the event is in the works and is slated for the fall, “around the same time as last year,” said Annette Marin of Spune.
Untapped’s inaugural year at Trinity Groves was testament to uprising of the Dallas brewing scene, where companies such as Lakewood Brewing Company and Peticolas Brewing Company made a solid presence. The event, which featured musical acts such as The Burning Hotels and The Eastern Sea, sold out in 2012 to an overwhelmingly supportive crowd.
According to our report last year, “The Dallas Untapped festival was not only a realization of its own goals, but it was also a meaningful moment for West Dallas’ Trinity Groves project.”
