Pale ale

Just finished brewing a pale ale. My first (totally unsuccessful) attempt at home brewing was on MLK Day in 2010: the LHBS was closed, and we had to abort the mission. Ever since, I get the urge to brew on MLK Day.

Today was a pale ale with some of the wild hops a friend gathered. Nothing too spectacular, but I wanted to start stocking up now, rather than lamenting my lack of stores when the weather warms up a little.

Looks like the yeast is getting started: there's some foam forming on the top of the beer and I can see some of the solids starting to move around in there.

I think this is my 20th batch, not counting meads and ciders.

I have a dream that my beer will one day be consumed in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their malts but by the content of their flavors.

This should be engraved on mash tuns across the globe.

+1. In fact, I think I may just have to do that. At least hang the sign in my garage by the "brewery".
