Using coconut....
I put some coconut into a beer (dry nutting). It is very finely shredded.
ANyone know what the extraction time is to get the full nut?

Not sure, every time i have used coconut it has been toasted and added to the boil. But i would figure between 14 and 30 days should do it.

Well, I figured with the surface area it would extract quickly. Guess I'll have to sample...what a bummer

Question is: did you put the lime in the coconut?
Sorry, couldn't resist that. I would with letting it sit for a couple weeks.

I agree with sampling. Perhaps try it after a week, then two weeks and go from there? Best of luck!

I did my one lb for 2 weeks in secondary. Pretty strong flavor at first but after 3 weeks in keg it was great. The coconut flavor will deminish noticeably with time
