Flavor of Rye

I was wandering what the flavor profile of Rye is.
I've tried Sweetwater IPA and Sweetwater Rye IPA. And other that a more citrusy hop character from the regular IPA, I don't notice a flavor difference.

I've tried Hop Rod RyePA and still I don't really notice a distinctive flavor that may be coming from Rye.

Am I just missing something?

Thanks for any help

It's hard to describe-like explaining "blue" to a blind man. I know that my rye beers are drier than my other beers. The problem with the beers you're trying is the hops overpower the other flavors in the beers. try a German roggenbier if you can find one, it',, give you a better appreciation of the rye contribution.
