5 gallon whiskey barrels are perfect for homebrewers

The 5 gallon barrels are perfect for homebrewers who want to do cask aged beers. Buy them direct from Woodinville Whiskey Co.

I guess they are neat to have as a conversation piece but my experience with whiskey barrels, albeit not the 5 gallon size, is that they are more of a pain than a pleasure. The larger ones are a bear to move and pity the person who forgets to chock the darn thing and it comes rolling your way. At the least you get a sore shin out of it or crushed toes or busted up knee.

Then there is the issue or cleaning the inside and making sure it is properly hydrated to forestall any leaking staves.

But then again they are cool to look though $120 could buy a lot of things that are cool to look at.
