More along the lines of thousands of beer book collectors glued to their screens and quivering with drool leaking from the corners of their mouths as the wait in anticipation of those books being put on the auction block....

And I have a copy of "The Joy of Cooking" signed by the previous owner. Could someone please validate my existence as well. I don't feel I can go on without some acknowledgment that I have a copy of "The Joy of Cooking" signed by the previous owner. ;(

Well, I realize this is an old thread but I'm glad I stumbled upon it. I always wonder what's up with those SWMBO comments. I mean, I'm not one to judge, live and let live, etc., but I always figured it was

"Single White Male with Body Odor"

(not that there's anything wrong with that, well, unless I have to sit/stand nearby).

Hugh, it's better than having a copy of "Better Homes: New Cook Book" for every year you've been married, I think my mother-in-law is trying to say something about my cooking.

I bought my own copy of the BH&G cookbook about 30 years ago and still have it. Mine is subtitled in green marker "inadvertent suicide prevention."
