We are now in the home stretch of preparations for the Coast to Coast Toast. We are turning attention in the last week fully to individuals in our sphere to encourage them to attend a party in their home town, use the social network to spread the word. Below is the text of the communique that has just gone out to thousands of individuals. Please note that we are dedicating the C2CT2 to the victims of Superstorm Sandy. In New York City ONLY we are postponing the date of the event to give our distributor and our hosts time to recover. We wish you all a great event day, appreciate your help in spreading the word, and are grateful for your generosity in helping victims of the disaster each in your own way. We are honored to be working with you all!
Dear friends,
Given the excitement of the past few weeks - from Superstorm Sandy to the 2012 Election – we have been afraid to turn your attention (and ours) from coverage of these momentous events.
Humbly then, we submit for your consideration that in a little more than a week...on Thursday, November 15, 2012 (King's Day in Belgium), the best specialty beer-centric bars, restaurants, and stores across the nation (and beyond) will be raising a glass to celebrate Vanberg & DeWulf's birthday and the great state of craft and specialty beer culture in the US of A. On this day the most progressive, idiosyncratic, and wonderful retailers and publicans join hands, and we salute them and their estimable clientele (i.e. you!). We hope you will attend a party somewhere near you.
Last year, the 1st annual Coast to Coast Toast became the single largest one day celebration of Belgian beer culture in the United States in this millennium (good thing the millenium is young!). This year's Toast will be even bigger, and we're ready to party - are you? There are hundreds of parties taking place all across the country, and you can view them in our most recent tally of our illustrious coterie of Coast to Coast Toast Hosts. If you locate a place you love and want to support them, gather your friends and check out their Facebook page to see what they are pouring and doing that night. For more information on what beers will be poured, take a peek at the official list of beers for the night. Want even more information? Check out our portfolio.
Why Else Should You Celebrate?
Did you know that you have TWO opportunities to win a free trip to Belgium in connection with the Coast to Coast Toast? You do!!! The first is through our bosom buddies at the Weekly Pint. Click here to enter in a drawing, then improve your karma by sharing this contest with your friends.
The second opportunity to enter is a little more elaborate. Log on to Untappd and check into two of the Vanberg & DeWulf C2CT beers to earn yourself the C2CT2 badge. Then enter the drawing to win a roundtrip flight to Brussels.
Toot Your Horn
On the night of the party up load photos using the #C2CT hashtag so that people from Brussels, Milan, Lille, Walberswick (UK) to San Francisco and San Diego and all the spots in between can share their experience of this extraordinary day and night.
While you’re at it, be sure to chat up Vanberg & Dewulf on twitter using the tag #C2CT. You should totally use this as an opportunity to discover your next favorite beer.
Revelers and Untappd members will have a chance to check in at spectacular places like LeRoy and The J Clyde (AL) Lucky Baldwin’s, Toronado (CA), The Cheeky Monk (CO), Church Key (D.C.), the Fred (GA) The Aviary, Binny’s The Publican, Fountainhead, Maria’s Package Store, Fat Pour (IL) Hopleaf, Map Room (IL), 5 Horse Tavern (MA), Max’s, Brewer’s Art (MD) , Winking Lizard (OH), Higgins, Belmont Station, Bazi BIstro (OR), Max & Joe’s (NE),The Avenue Pub (LA), Bazi Bistro, Saraveza , Moon & Sixpence(OR) Alla Spina , Monk’s, Tria (PA), Mekong (VA) Whole Foods shops across country and hundreds of other great beer locations with a Vanberg & DeWulf beer.
This year the party leaps the big pond with legendary publicans joining in. Jean Hummler’s Moeder Lambic kicks off the C2CT2 in Brussels (twinned with Church Key) with a total tap takeover. The Anchor & The Swan in South East England, run by legendary publican Mark Dorber is UK HQ, The revered, La Capsule near Brasserie Castelain in Lille is command central in France and is twinned with Memphis Taproom in Philadelphia where genuine Belgian burgers will be baked. More international venues are to be revealed in the coming two weeks.

Help Friends in Need
We're dedicating this year's C2CT2 to our friends in the path of the storm. Many of the hosts round the country are generously setting aside proceeds from the party for disaster relief . We salute their kindness. We urge you to make a donation if you can to a relief effort. The C2CT2 parties will go on in all markets as scheduled on November 15th except in New York City. In the 5 boroughs of New York we have jointly taken the decision to postpone the celebrations for 2 months - until January 15th. By all means, if you can, support the C2CT2 host businesses: All our NYC hosts need your patronage and encouragement. If you have time take a look at Pete Well's story here
