Looking to sell my old gear. How much should I ask for it?

Hey guys.

I am looking to get rid of an all grain setup. This thing is complete, and ready to brew. What do you think I should ask for it?

Here is a list of the items:
1. Gravity Fed Brewing Stand
a. Converted Kegs
b. Insulated Mash tun
c. Welded Thermometers on Mash and HLT
d. Quick Disconnects on Mash and Boil
e. False bottom on Mash and Boil
f. HLT, Mash, Boil all have own burner
2. JSP Malt Mill with external motor ready to install
3. Wort Chiller – Choice of counter flow or immersion
4. Magnetic stir plate
5. Mash paddle
6. Carboys
a. 6.5 gallon – Qty 3
b. 5 gallon – Qty 3
c. 1 gallon – Qty 1
d. ½ gallon – Qty 1
7. Cornelius Kegs – Qty 4
8. March high temp pump
9. Counter pressure bottle filler
10. Small scale – ounces
11. Hydrometer and Sample tube
12. 2 Large Stainless spoons
13. Large stainless whisk
14. Fermentation fridge

There will most likely be more stuff added as I am still going through stuff, but this is the large stuff.

Well, perhaps people will be shy to be the first to input? I was thinking $1500.00. Does that sound fair? Is that too little? Too high?

I would price each item individually, then decide what you would accept to unload the whole package at once, and ask a little bit more.

It is hard to put a total system price together any other way because all systems are slightly different, and there may be folks who already have some pieces.

Thanks.

I guess what I am trying to accomplish by selling it all at once is not having to deal with weeks of answering 100s of people who want to trade me their grandmas bra for my malt mill. My hopes is that maybe someone who is looking to either upgrade from extract or from a cooler setup may grab this and if they have any extra parts they could sell them to recover some of their costs.

I have to agree with beerking. Even if you just put out a package price, you still will get weeks of people calling you asking if you would break up the set. I also think that there are more people looking for individual pieces than out to purchase a whole set up.

Part it out, man. Just take a few pics and put it on ebay. You'll get more for it sold in lots or individually than by trying to give people a deal on the whole shebang. Think about it. Odds are, every one of us saw something in that list that made us think, "Ooooh! I wouldn't mind having that thing! I'm not gonna buy everything else to get it though." Just don't put your number on there if you're worried about the hastle. People will still e-mail you questions, but you don't have to answer them all or even look at them if you don't want.

Exactly

If you are lost on time, then selling it all together you should get a decent price. What investment do you have in it? How old are the items? How used are the items?

But, ebay each item and you'll get a good bit of money. Might even be more than what you have in it.

Sorry, I don't have a price for you. But, if you give me an idea of what you have in it and I do some online research, I can give you a reasonable price for all of it.

There are TONS of people in the bay area looking for all grain setups. I would throw it up on craigslist for 1500 and hop to get between 1k-1500. If it isn't moving, ask the local homebrew shops to throw up a for sale add in their shop. You can also post it up on the www.homebrewtalk.com classified section. Stuff on their always moves quickly. But they are like hyenas, don't post their if you don't want to deal with the 100's of parting out requests.
