I was at my LHBS a few months ago, and he happened to be out of my favorite yeast (I've been stuck on the WLP028 Edinburgh Ale Yeast for a while with excellent results). I asked him for a substitute, and he pulled out this folded up poster from White Labs. It had the yeast strains going down the left and the first 2 columns were temp and flocculation, and the remaining columns were beer styles. The chart contains icons for whether the yeast is suitable for that style or not.
I got to thinking about it, and I requested via email that White Labs send me a copy via PDF, or put it on the website for everyone to use. They requested my mailing address and like 2 weeks later they sent me a copy of the poster. It's pretty cool. I'm going to get a frame for it and hang it where I keep all my beer stuff.

That’s friggen awesome. Do you think that they would issue one to all the RB members here? Cuz I’m sure they are going to have a slew of emails in the morning.

After I get a poster frame for it, I'll either take a very high-res photograph of it, or carefully scan each section and join it together on the PC. I gotta look for a copyright notice or something on it, though.
Although if everyone emails them, I suggest everyone recommend they put a PDF on their website. That way everyone can get it and print it out to what-ever size.
I don't know if any one has noticed, but if you collect empty White Labs vials, you can get free stuff: http://whitelabs.com/customerclub.html
For 5 vials, you can get a free vial and a set of white labs recipe posters.
If you collect 5000 vials, Chris White will come to your house, bring the yeast, and brew with you.

I have only used White Labs yeast once and liked the result- I think it was an irish ale yeast. I also liked the fact that all you did was shake and dump as opposed to smack, wait three hours, sanitize the package, the toss. I would use White Labs more but the HBS near me only carries wyeast and the other HBS is almost an hour away in traffic.

One of the things I just realized about White Labs vials yesterday. There is a rather wide flange at the top just under the cap. The cap is narrow enough and the flange wide enough so that it will rest conveniently upside in the throat of your carboy.
Just turn it up and give it a couple of minutes and all the remaining residue in the vial will drain out into your wort.

Crap, I have already thrown away at least 4 of them.

The funny this is I kept the tube for my Irish ale yeast because I liked the tube. I was going to take it to work and keep small hardware in it, like rivets or snake drills. I will probably still do that, but now I have reason.

Did you know that the White Labs viles are actually 2-liter bottles that have not been expanded to their full size? I swear, its the truth.

Both White Labs and Wyeast have nice posters that give good info on them. Most LHBS have a few extras they are willing to share.

I emailed White yesterday about their poster and within 30 minutes received a reply saying that the poster was on it's way. They seem to have a very courteous sales department.

For the free stuff haaseg mentioned you only need the labels. You do not have to pay the extra shipping to send the whole vial in. Just thought I would point that out.
