what's the right glass? After 12 days of primary, a 3 day diacetyl rest, 4 weeks of lagering, and 10 days to carbonate, I'm willing to spring for 6 or 8 of the most appropriate glasses for a Dortmunder export lager. Must admit the IPA's and ESB's I've been brewing taste better in the english pub-style "nonic" glasses I got for $2 each from CostPlus--can somebody help a brother out here?

Not that I'm suggesting you buy this particular lot of glasses, but since a picture speaks a thousand words, you may be able to match the shape: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3235634700&category=35719
I've also seen Dortmunder style beers served in the typical German clay Krug. And you're right, beer seems to taste better when served in its proper glass - especially if the glass has true function, such as a Pils glass allowing the hop flavor and nose to escape freely to the drinker's senses.

If you can lay your hands on a copy of Michael Jackson's "Ultimate Beer", there are a few pages devoted to Dortmunder Export with pictures of the brewers accompanying glassware. Some really nice ones!
