Crushing Grains

The question is as the title indicates. What is a recommended method of crushing grains. My LHBS's mill was down and now I have whole grains to deal with. Just a pound so not a huge volume. Can I crush them with a coffee grinder? A rolling pin? Any better ideas?

2 cutting boards, some aluminum foil and something heavy always worked for me.

Heavy rolling pin, wine bottle(be careful),mortar and pestle, meat pounder with dish towel, almost anything but never a coffee grinder.

Definitely between two boards if you're going to use a good rolling pin. I used the rolling pin I got from my grandmother to crush things and now it's pitted. :(
