The first rule of Brewmonkey is you don't talk about Brewmonkey.

The second rule of Brewmonkey is you don't talk about Brewmonkey.

I am around. Many of you know that I had an accident which left me disabled, for those who did not know, now you do. Having a spinal cord injury means good days and bad ones, lately it seems I have been having more bad ones then good. Top that all off with my sons and myself all ended up with the freaking flu one after other and my wife could not take off work as she just started her new job.

While I have not been posting much I have been checking in. As well I am always available by PM or email.

I'm praying for your recovery; it's got to be hard on you and your family. I have five years of zero income on my Social Security statement from a wreck I was in on the way back from the physical therapist for a three-week previous wreck. There is recovery, brother, so hang in there. Get a good lawyer, and go for all the gusto you can get.

Unfortunately for me there is no recovery. It is possible I may not get worse but never better. My situation was not without complications, I developed adhesive arachnoiditis which is very painful and incurable. I spend most of my time on very strong pain meds just to get comfortable and probably will be on them for the rest of my life.

As for lawyers, even if there was someone to sue there would be no lawsuit as with arachnoiditis any number of issues could have caused it. Pinpointing the one, accident, surgery etc would be impossible and no expert would testify they could tell you which it was.

I do appreciate the well wishes though!

Sorry to hear that, Brewmonkey. I don't know your situation, but you might have money through job service's federal disability program for schooling. This is grant money, and they even provide for transportation expenses. Talk to your local college disability counselor if you think you might want to go that direction. I received an AAS Paralegal degree through that program, and the administrators at my college really worked with me as a disabled student.

I will still say a prayer or two for you Brewmonkey in hopes that you can manage to be somewhat comfortable.

I miss your words of wisdom and the few we get are gems. Thanks for being a member of this community.

The past year has been a tough one mentaly as I have come to the realitization that many of the things I love to do will be either difficult to do now or near impossible, brewing being one of them. It's ok though because I have found some other things to occupy my time as well I get to spend a ton of time with my sons.
