Hello,

I am a student at the University of Amsterdam and I am doing a research about the various behavior that people can have in online communities (like this). You would really help me a lot if you would like to fill in my questionnaire. The URL to the questionnaire is at the bottom and it will take less then 10 minutes of your time. Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll fill it out if you give us some info on beers from your country. What beer do you prefer?

This board is a bit different than many out there. We have a civil and friendly community. And although it is tempting, we usually try to keep to beer and occasionally beets. Recently someone characterized this board as being kind of like the local corner bar or pub. I am in complete agreement with that analogy.

Survey complete. Now, about the beer…

I filled out the questionnaire based on this board (since this is where I spend most of my time)...there would have been some different answers for a baseball community or even the gardening & cooking communities I've belonged to as they are not as welcoming, nor as friendly. As noted somewhere here, baseball communities can be down right deadly with all the trolls and flame-throwing.

The guys and gals here are the greatest!

Done.
However, if surveys pop up any more, I will just ignore and delete them. They cut into my drinking time.

Did it too. Getting the idea that they're wondering how many of us have nothing better to do than hang out and post all day...

Now maybe karma will come back at us and we'll stumble across those beers we have yet to sample but have been meaning to.

How do I know you're not just collecting information for one of the many spam agencies?

I did it too. Interesting choice of questions. Why do I get the feeling that it was more interested in the psychology of forums than the content and experience. I would be very interested to see the premise for the study as well as the outcomes.

Hello everybody,

Thank you very much for filling in my questionnaire. It had really been helpfull. I also noticed a lot of replies. On that subject I have to say that I think indeed that this community has a friendly nature, you do not see that so often...If anybody wants the results, just let me know, I think (and sure hope) I will be finished in 2 months.

But about the really important topic: the BEER! Because Chazwicke notices me on the fact that after all this is a community about beer, and he sure is right about that.
I am from Holland and of course you all know Heikenen. That really is not my favorite, but the best beer in holland (in my opinion) is Brand. I do not know if somebody ever heart of it?? It is a little more bitter than Heikenen, so you can better taste the real beer. (www.brand.nl is the website if you're interested).
And I think that Jupiler (Belgium) has the best (normal) beer in a bottle, drinks very nice. For special beers, I also like Belgium beers of Murphy's (England)

Greetings

Send us the results when you are finished. Brand used to come in white bottles here in the States. been a long time since I had it or Jupiler

Chaz, I actually have a Brand Bottle opener along with two glasses, and a bar mirror. I might even have one of those white bottles out in the storage shed. I don't think it's available here anymore. At least I haven't seen it since their marketing push several years back that led to my aquisition of said items.

Was the whole vottle white, or just the etiket? Because now here in Holland, they also changed the crat (i don't know if that is correct English, but i mean the thing with 24 bottles in it..) from green to white/gold. But i never heart of white bottles. Sounds cool..

I noticed the same thing. Did you see how they asked the same question-in different ways- multiple times. That works ok in a test like the MMPI or another test that is 500 questions and is meant to be taken over the course of 3 hours. Here, however, it was kind of transparent. I understand the reasoning behind that, but I have always found tests like that a little insulting. Like they think that the people taking it are not smart enough to realize that they just answered the same question.

And yes, I have taken MANY of these "Personality Invenentory" evaluations. They are very standard when applying for a job in law enforcement in Michigan. Lots of other companies were using them for a while too. I had to take one when I applied as a driver for Pizza Hut!!

By the way, I have a friend who found the "answer key" to the MMPI. She promised me a copy a while ago, but I haven't seen it to collect it from her. With this key, you can make the test readers believe anything about your personality.
