Hello,
first of all i`d like to introduce myself. My name is diebier. I am from god old germany and live in one of the greatest cities for german beer, in the so called BAMBERG. Capital of beer production in Germany. Here the famous Schlenkerla, Fässla, Schammelsdorfer, Spezial, Dombräu, Herrenbräu, Puntigamer, Mahr, Käsmann beer is made. I am interested in exportintan these types of beer. Would you be interested in ordering it and how much should it cost including transportation fees?

Hi,
Welcome, thank you for the offer, but I just checked FedEx's site and they want $165 US to ship 10 # ( 4.5 Kilo) from Bamberg, Germany, 96052 to Orlando Fl, 34747.
As much as I'd like to try some smoked beer, it's a little pricey.
NOTE - Sorry that was 165 EUR, even worse.

Bamberg is indeed a lovely city with tremendously great beer. I enjoyed my visit there as much as any other place in Germany. You are lucky to have the famous Rauch beers at your fingertips. Schlenkerla does get imported to the states in 3 varieties. Maerzen, Ur Bock, and Weizen. All three are ser gudt especially when fresh. Some US breweries are making some pretty darn good Rauchs as well. The Sly Fox in PA makes some awesome smoked beers using smoked malts imported from Bamberg of course. Welcome to the board. I'd be willing to possibly trade a few beers.

BAMBERG!? I love BAMBERG!
If you're talking about getting into the export biz or starting a "beer of the month club" specific to the crown of Franconia, not just swapping for other locals, I'd be in!
Throw in a Bamberg Onion once in a while and I'd be your lifelong friend! :D

I know that Fedex is very expensive but i would ship it with DHL ( dhl.com). Here a transport would cost 65, 00 Euros for a box of beer but with the ship. Another possibility would be a transport of four bottles of Schammelsdorfer beer for 25, 00 Euros. Please remember, these are only questions not a concrete enterprise. Perhap an online shop could follow.

i heard from a beer bar owner that berliner may not be available much longer in the U.S. - if true that would be a terrible shame, i looked into importing it on my own, although i'm sure i'll never actually do it.... i know this has nothing to do with bamburg, but i feel like if someone put some energy into marketing it over here, we could help save the beer. i believe it sells better over here than it does in germany anyway.
i found it available at a 20 case per skid minimum import, i forget what site though

I enjoy the occasional Berlinner Weisse too. I usually keep some at the beach for those hot afternoons when you want a refreshing beer rather than something heavy. Also, my mother in law who is a frequent visitor also enjoys a glass of it. (She is German.) I'd hate to see it go again. There was a time when you could not find any but then it started showing up again. I do like the addition of raspberry syrup.

Hello again,
I could have an offer for you. You would get four bottles of beer after your inidividual choice. The costs for this wouldn`t be 165 Euro but 55 US Dollar. Below you can see a probe. The 55 bucks includes everything ( customs dues, transportation fees and so on). It would be a firm price. I know many brewers in Bamberg personally thus i can support with nearly every beer which is made in Germany. One of the best beers is the " Schammelsdorfer" but i can create your box with the four bottles after your individual choice. What is your opinion towards that offer. I repeat it is only a question which could be realized.
