for me it's Rogue's Dead Guy Ale. Never had it before, but i had heard good things. Picked up a sixer at trader joe's on the way home from work
imho it's EXCELLANT. but one question... according to their website it's a maibock, which should be a lager, but they use their own proprietary "pacman" ALE yeast.
so... i'm not stingy about styles. i usually think " if it tastes good, who cares". but if they're gonna call it a maibock, shouldn't they use a lager yeast?
i'mjust rambling, becasue i'm a bit tipsy! yay!

I like Dead Guy Ale, too.
I went and read the description on their site and I don't think that they're saying it's a Maibock as much as they're trying to convey information about the recipe. After all the name of the beer is Dead Guy ALE not Dead Guy (Mai)Bock.

I slammed down a couple of Pete's Summer Brews to cool me off from the Texas heat, then I tried a beer that I had never had before, Tripel Karmeliet. It is a Belgian 3 grain ale with a blonde to copper color, a little cloudy in the true wheat tradition, with a fruit and spice hint underlying a smooth, full body. Good nose. Less than satisfying finish though. All in all it was a really good beer, I just wish that the flavors had held in the aftertaste.

i have a double bach in the keg that i a just finishing up--7%--
i have a chocolate, coffee porter in the carboy that just cant wait to go in the keg--i actually got the recipe from someone on this site--i added the coffee--i think it was called"holeyt ficken porter"--i started brewing it when everyone was talking about brewing the same beer and mailing 1 or 2 to each other for sampling--doesnt sound like that ever took off.
Im moving in a week and i have been waiting for the move before kegging it --so when the new neighbors come over for a beer, i will show them a real beer from the gettgo-
-i am at this moment botteling a mead wine---i started it on 2-22-03 and have racked it 5 times. It actually taste pretty good but will still wait a few months before opening the first bottle.
have fun

A bit late, but I had some of my holiday brew, ( a SN Celeb. Ale clone), while formulating my next recipe, an Oatmeal Stout that I brewed Sat. night.

After the thread dissing Fat Tire, I tried the New Belgium Trippel. I was pleasantly suprised. Out of all the New Belgium beers I've tried, this is the only one that stands out. I really enjoyed it.
