While hoisting up a Sierra Nevada P.A. (my house beer), I thought of my favorite beer store Shangy's in Emmaus , PA. Anybody else a fan? If so, comments please (freshness, selection, price etc...)

I've yet to visit Shangys but it is legendary. I have read many accounts of the place in issues of Malt Advocate back in the day. Both John Hansell and Lew Bryson have spoken highly of the place. My son is in School in Bethlehem. How Far is Shangys from there? I recall there was also an establishment called The Farm House Restaurant that they used to write about too. I think they used to do beer and single malt dinners.

Depending on where your son is in Bethlehem, I would say that Shangy's is no more than 10 miles away. And yes I would say that legendary is a fitting description. The place is immaculate and very well organized. His everyday prices are very reasonable as well. For example, on my last visit I picked up SN Pale Ale $20.99, Hoegaarden $29.99, Three Floyd's Alpha King $27.99, Victory Prima Pils $23.99. If you do ever plan to pay a visit I can provide more detailed directions.
