what kind of beer does everyone drink during the week?
do you drink a lighter beer with less alcohol during the week due to work ,sleep and things to do? and maybe something with a little more kick on weekends ?when you have more time to enjoy it?
in my case i don't drink during the week , i get off work between 12am and 3am so when i go home i go right to bed, i work second shift (won't do first , traffic sucks in o.c.) so i have a few hours before work in the day but im not trying to drink then. alcohol robs you of sleep (i read that in a medical report somewhere, thats why your always so tierd when hung over even though you slept 12 hours) so i won't drink right before going to sleep. one once of alcohol takes about an hour for your liver to filter out and im not waiting that long to go to bed. any ways some times i come home and would like a beer. so i thought i could get some ideas here....maybe we all can..... just no n/a.

There's a lot to be said about the effects of mass quantities of beers before bed, but I don't think one beer is gonna disturb your sleep that much. Something in a nice hoppy Sierra Nevada Pale Ale might even help your slumber. In the past, hops have been used as a sleep aid - placed in small bags and hidden within a pillow or pillow-case as a sort of relaxing aroma therapy device.
I'm no mathematician, but if a beer such as SN's Pale is 5.6% ABV, that's less than one ounce of alcohol in a 12 oz. bottle, right? One full ounce of alcohol would be closer to a shot of Everclear - I can see that causing a fitful sleep!

BTW - I saw an Erdinger N/A Bavarian Weissbier in my local store...I'll keep you posted!

what a crummy survey.. it wouldn't let me select them all!!
but seriously, it all depends on my mood, the time of year, what i'm having for dinner, etc, etc. most typically i guess would be ales, particularly american pale ales- sierra nevada, stouds, flying fish, because thats one of my favorite styles. but i think my favorite after-work beer is a good barleywine. 1 bottle while making/eating dinner, and work just melts away. and by the time you're done and cleaned up, the affects are gone, and you're fine to go about your evening!

Definitely a "lighter" (5% or less) during the week, I run three days of the week also and it's a real pain to down a couple potent beers and still find the motivation to run 2.5 miles...
I save the higher gravity stuff for Friday and Saturday nights.

I would drink any of them during the week depending on what the situation and leaving the colt for someone other than me. If I had something to really celebrate or wanted alot from one beer I would have a barelywine. A couple of hefes go down well after a hockey game I some times play in the middle of the week. At times I find my "hop tooth" screaming for an IPA. My wife likes brown ales, so we might enjoy one on the porch or in a dark room after quelling the boys for the night. Beer is good any time and remeber that beer can be food but food can never be beer.

More often than not, I have a couple of whatever I have on tap...three to choose from. Lately I've been partial to this wonderful weizen I have but typically it would be one of my ales.

well last night i had a 2000 vintage ale from fullers . at 8.5%
after all that beer tallk last night i said the hell with it, i've takest all i can takest an i cant takest no more, so instead of a can of spinach i opened a bottle of beer, i didn't have to go to work today untill 1:30pm... any way i didn't oversleep and i actually felt pretty good in the morning, although i think i'll take some of your guys advise and stick to maybe a sierra navada or something of the likes if i do decied to have *just* one before i hit the sack.
thnx
