Hi everyone...

I am aware, or at least I think I am, that SC has the 6% abv cap that NC just lifted and GA lost a few years ago restricting the strength of beer that can be brewed or sold in the state....but I was in Charleston a couple of weeks ago and I saw a bottle of 3 Monts in a grocery store, a beer I know to be 8.5% abv. that was the only strong beer I found and other beers I swore were a bit stronger than 6% all had their abv pegged right at 6 on the label.
Does anyone know what the actual deal is with SCs beer restrictions?

Thanks in advance

Cheers,
Pete

Here's a little info:

http://www.popthecapsc.org/

It's not uncommon for a beer to be sold in any state unregistered. It is illegal, however, and the store could be fined or be subject to sanctions against their license if discovered and reported.

Shhhhh!
