Has anyone tried using 1gal glass bottles for bottling beer?
what are the pro's and cons?
The two that come to mind are:
1. sealing the bottles well
2. Consumming the beer in one session (actually a plus ;-) )
(I'm not drinking too much, I'm stopping the beer from going flat)

I can't think of a down side to using say 10 half gallon self cappers for bottling a 5 gallon batch. Even if you were pouring the beer and then resealing you would wind up with an environment at least as good as cask conditioned beer.
If I were still botting it would be great to put maybe three gallons in half gallon bottles and then the rest in 22 oz bottles.

The mini kegs are a pretty cool option too. Although, I must admit, I too gravitated towards the cornelius kegs and would hate to go back to bottling everything.

i have 24 .5lt and 12 lt EZ-Cap bottles. excellent way to store/bottle. I have been kegging lately, but will be bottling a batch of holiday beer soon b/c I anticipate drinking it over 3- 4 months and I don'twant to tie up a keg for that long.
