dogfish head midas touch

my local beer store got 4-packs of dogfish head midas touch, and i was wondering if anyone has tried it and how it was. at $16/4 its not cheap. (i did pick up the new 90-min 4 packs though!, those are a sure bet anytime)

i had it a month or 2 ago from a 750mL bottle that cost about $10 if memory serves me.

it was very interesting.. saffron was strong, but pleasant and went very well with the grape flavor. sweet and well balanced. an unusual beer like this i wouldn't drink as my daily brew, but quite good for a special treat!

and rather strong too.. i forget the ABV, but i should not have had the whole bottle in one sitting.. oh well, live and learn.

also, i think there was some other tasting notes on this one.. try a search for it!

I'VE TRIED IT AND WASN'T REAL IMPRESSED , IT'S SOMEWHERE BETWEEN A BARLYWINE AND A BEER BUT IT WAS PRETTY SWEET, NOT SOMETHING YOU WOULD CALL A SESSION BEER, ALTHOUGH IF I WAS SITTING AT THE DINNER TABLE ON THNXGIVING WITH A BIG MEAL (HONEYBAKED HAM COMES TO MIND) I WOULD PROBABLY ENJOY IT A LOT MORE.
