Has anyone here ever brewed (or attempted to brew) an all-grain rye beer? I want to do something a little different this time, and my next door neighbor and I are brewing on Tuesday. Would like to get my stuff at the HBS tomorrow. Very timely responses will be appreciated. I would prefer this brew to be in the refreshing 5% abv range. Thanks, fellows!!!

Thank you, Sully D...That is a very useful reference that will help me. Brewer D...Did you have any kind of a problem with the legendary "sticky, pain in the ass to sparge" mash with that amount of rye? I have read about this problem and was wondering if it really & truly is a problem.

Help me, I'm sceered!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ray I must be the luckiest man on the face of the earth. I have had one stuck mash in nearly 8 years of brewing... (knock on wood). Rye was not a problem form me. This is the first time I have ever used it and I love the flavor it added. Give it a shot man........

That's a brave thing to say ;)

I'd have 20 stuck runoffs in a row if I said that out loud.
