I've always relied on yard sales, Home Depot, or the web. Check these sites out:
taphandles.com (http://www.taphandles.com/)
micromatic.com (http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-beer/tap-handles-cid-361.html)
and
bannerbeer.com (http://www.bannerbeer.com/store/index.php/page/shop:browse/category_id/8d887b92f784fcd93e165b1c30d3d2cd/)

I've had some great luck on ebay, and for the hard to find ones getting them directly from the brewery, most of them sell tap handles directly.

bars are also a good source if you have a place that you goto regularly usually when they are done with seasonal type stuff they get rid of the tap handles all you need to do is ask (and tip well)

careful it's hard to stop collecting them, I'm up to 30 some. at some point the hard part is displaying them all.

I'm planning on turning my own, once I get the basement cleared out to the point where I can reach either of my two lathes again...

A few branded ones - most brewery website will sell them:

Stone (https://www.stonebrew.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=TAPS&Category_Code=Barware)

Harpoon (http://www.friendofharpoon.com/estore/control/product/~category_id=HarpoonMisc/~product_id=HarpoonUFOHefeTap)

Shipyard (http://www.shipyardshopping.com/specials/ctaps.html)

Newport Storm (http://www.newportstorm.com/gear.asp)

Dogfish Head (http://store.dogfish.com/store.cfm/tap_handles.html)

Victory (http://gallery.bcentral.com/GID5116920P3710070-Great-Gift-Ideas/Victory-Tapmarker.aspx)

New Belgium (http://shop.newbelgium.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=Tap)

Many beer distributors will also pitch them after a while - some might be slightly "used" and some might simply be an old style. Worth asking your favorite barroom about it.

Cheers!

Ebay and breweriana shows. I have probably 30 or so myself.

There are usually plenty that show up at this show in February:
