Any NS maritimers in here? Just wanted to get your take on (another) brewpub in Halifax. In my many trips up there, I've found the "local" brew (i.e. Keith's, etc.) is owned by some small arm of a mega brewer...I've hit a lot of the brewpubs up in Halifax (and loved most of the beer), but I've also thought a locally-owned brewpub, brewing beer from locally grown ingredients would be a cool thing....

I'm not local....but I will be soon....

What do you think?

The only Halifax brewpub I have been to is Granite. It had wonderful beers and the best seafood chowder that I have ever eaten. This was a number of years ago. I have also been to the Granite in Toronto

Greetings!

I have been living in Halifax for 4 years now. The Granite Brewery was my first introduction to real ale. I was amazed immediately with their product and have used their brews as the benchmark for mine.

There are other great micros in the area. The Propeller Brewery poduces great brews. Their new IPA is, in my opinion, the best pint in town. Unfortunately, they don't have a pub on premise to serve their beers. They can be found on tap in a variety of establishments here in Halifax.

Cheers!
