Just bought an A419 Electronic Temp Control. I have to do the wiring myself, and I'm having an issue (I have no idea what Im doing). If anyone has done the wiring I would greatly appreciate some help.

This link is pretty good. I was able to figure it out after looking at it:

If you need more direction, just post back and I'll try to answer your question. I have wired two of these, so I think I've got it down now.

So do i need to cut a seperate white piece and coneect it to the other two ends, meaning i would have 3 white wires connected to one nut. Then also i would have 2 blacks coming from the 120V as well. one going from the 120V to the "common" on the other side.

Yes, you'll need an extra white section so that you'll get 3 wires in one wire-nut.
I wired the black wire just as they've shown, cut a small section off and tie it between 120 and 'C', then take the black from the plug end and tie it to 120 and the black from the other end and tie it to NO. If you were to split the black from the plug end into two wires and wire one to 120V and one to C, I don't believe that's the same since they'd then be in parallel rather than in series as the wiring diagram has it.

i have it wired up now, what do i do with the jumpers? Do i need to set it where it kicks on at the setpoint or the other way?

Are there jumpers other than the ones you've created with a small piece of the black wire? I don't have jumpers on my controller. Nothing needed to be changed after the wiring. Wiring from 120V to the Close terminal, which means 'Close on Rise' sets the relay to close when it's above the setpoint and to open when it's below the setpoint.

yeah, in the direction it has a few different options if you want it to kick on at setpoint, kickoff at setpoint, and a couple others.

Right, but just wiring it up the way the link I sent you is what tells the controller to turn on when the temp goes above the setpoint and shutoff when it goes below. It's been a couple days, are you still wiring this or did you get it to work yet?

I wired it up already, alot easier than i thought it would be, i havent had the chance to plug the freezer up to it. i plugged the control up an it worked. im going to mess with it more tonight.
So if i wired it the way i did, i shouldnt have to do anything with the jumpers, right?

No, I think you should be good to go.

thanks for that link bruin - I'm playing with my new a19 today.
This may be a simpler way of restating the above:
Take a short extension cord and remove about 3" of the outer insulation in the middle of the cord.
Cut the black wire, strip both cut ends, and connect to the terminals as shown in the diagram.

No problem.. good luck getting it hooked up, I'm sure you'll figure it out. The first one took me about an hour (with some distractions), but the second one took 3 minutes.

I was pretty sure I understood what I was doing but I needed some affirmation.
