Anyone leave their racking cane and hose together all the time as opposed to breaking them apart after every use? I've been breaking them apart after every use and it is an enormous PITA. I want to leave them together permanantly, but I am afraid this might present a place for ore nasty critters to hang out.

I wouldn't recommend it... I know it's a PITA but I think the risk of gunk attracting little demons is too great.
Cheers!

Dunking it in a bit of very hot water to soften the hose works wonders.

Wish I had thought of that before breaking two canes.

The above quote did bring a what I thought would be a witty response but I will let decorum prevail.

Use the next size larger hose. I forget the diameter, but it pops on and off with ease and has never slipped off.

Naw, go ahead... fret's still disappointed about no one making a bad/obvious joke in the "Johnson Controls" thread!

I just had the same problem, and didnt want to risk breaking the plastic canes. The canes usually take a 5/16" hose, but if you use a 3/8" hose it slips on and off easily and I never had any issues with leaking, etc.
