There's always Brewer.
Somthing you might wanna check out............The Lucky Labrador, it's a brewpub in Portland, Oregon.
Take a look at the shirt for Black Lab Stout, mighty fine beer by the way.

Don't name it Guinness.. I know like 3 people with black labs named Guinness. If you wanted to name it Guinness be clever and name it "Sir Arthur" that would be cool.
I love the word Fuggles too and would probably think of naming something that. Fuggles the dog.. heh.

normally i try to keep my dogs name no more then two syllables.
it would depend on the breed i guess , i haven't had a dog in years but i think it would be something like,
if it were a shar-pei his name would be chimay
collie.......cascade
akita or an afgahn........alpha
golden retreiver.....????galena maybe?
oh well, my 2cents....can i get some change:rolleyes:
If I could have a pet-it would be a dog-and the name would be firkin ..What do you call a cat? Who cares-they will not come anyway.

I am thinking American style beer here. Think American, think hops. Think hops, think
1) Cascade
2) Centinell

I don't know about naming a black lab, but I have two (brother and sister) Chartreuse cat "mutts" that are named Belhaven and McEwan. Even gave their vet a bottle of each so that he could taste what they were named after.

I'm thinking you need to lean toward Guiness names. Sir Arthor, St James. Just not Guiness.

I would stick with something simple, like Suds, or Firewater. Then, if he runs off, you can always ask the neighbors: "Have you seen my Firewater?"
Oh, the Neighborhood Association meetings you'll enjoy after that exchange... :D

I don't suppose Sid Vicious counts? That's my dog and he's a real booze hound.
When he was little we thought he was clumsy because he kept knocking over our beers. Then we figured out WHY he was knocking over the beers. (he likes wine and burboun, too, but beer the best)

I definately like the "other than Guinness" Guinness names. As far as I go, I have a runt beagle "Brewser!" And yes, thats how it is spelled on her papers.

With the way I've been brewing lately I'd have to name it microbe, or lactobac... or maybe bunghole? I loved my pets but I think my pet days are long gone. I do good taking care of myself these days! -DRWeaver-

I know this is not very specific to the Home brewer , but my sister has a dog named Amstel after the Amstel brewery in Amsterdam.

well first there's my user name on this forum: Theakston.
Theakston was the name of my border collie. I called him that because Theakston is the brewer whose pubs I went to in the Yorkshire Dales - where Border Collies roam (in the pubs as well as in the sheep fields!)
Sadly he died of cancer last Summer.
Anyway we just adopted another BC from the animal welfare league.
His name - Riggwelter. It had to be really.
(Riggwelter is the name of the beer produced by the theakstons family after S&N took over their original brewery. It is the dialect term for when a sheep has fallen and it can't get up)

That's what teenagers are for. To stay at the house, feed the pets, and have wild parties while the parents are out of town, unbeknowst to them, having wild parties!

My teenage son loves travel as much as I do.
Needless to say my wife agreed to foster a very young and very pregnant cat that a woman rescued from the pound. Supposedly she can give the mother and all the kittens back when they are old enough. Right! Like thats gonna happen! Anyway the mother to be has been here for a week and is very, very ready to have those kittens. Probably have them while I am in Costa rica next week. My wife has named this cat Fiona.

For some reason I named the puppy I got about three monthes ago "Steve". But he has aquired the nickname of "Leinie" for his extreme love of beer (Leinie's Red being his favorite to date).
Little beggar has figured out that if he knocks the beer bottle over he gets beer, and that he can knock it over again as you clean up the first spill.
He hasn't tried any of my homebrew yet... but I named it for him "Steve's Stout"

I must say...I've heard some great names on here! I had a cat named Chimay once (she fit into the larger Chimay glass when she was a kitten...I have the picture to show to my beer geeky friends :) And I had a cat named Duvel...however, she was too big to fit in the Duvel glass...
Alas, both are deceased, and I picked up a dumpster kitty who was already named, so that's that....but I do like some of the names I've heard thus far! Maybe I can get my new one to answer to some of them! -BeerGal

I've got a Border collie bitch called Scrumpy that seems to be a perfect match, otherwise I'd agree with the earlier suggestion of Fuggles. Then again, if it's a male dog you could do worse than calling it Piddle, this was a guest beer in my local a while ago, I forget to brews it, but it was strange hearing people asking for "a pint of Piddle"...

thxs, I'm in Hampshire, Uk, not a million miles from London.
That Piddle was a great guest beer, at the start of the evening people would ask for a pint of - and just point at the beer pump, a few pints later it was no problem - two pints of Piddle and a packet of crisps please!:p

When I was a kid growing up, one of my neighbors had a dog he named Asshole. After a few times of my neighbor calling for the dog to come in, the town marshal had to ask him if he could change the dog's name or at least find a new way of calling him in. He then became Sparky :)

I have two dogs thier names are stinky and lola. When I call the vet, stinky always get a chuckle. Plus my nephews and niece love to scream Stinky.
I know a woman who name her black lab Stroh's after favorite beer. That would work with some beers like Samuel Adams (Sam, Samuel, Sammy), Sierra Nevada ( Sierra or Nevada). I liked the suggestion of Growler.
