I saw the freakish label in the store and had to give this one a try. I have tried Salvator's version of teh doppelbock, but that was my only experience other than this one. As expected, there was very little hop aroma or taste as it was dominated by the malt. It was defintely a sweeter beer, being reminiscent of caramel and (spicy fruit)? ABV of 8.2. Whew! My wife had to quit because she says she could taste the alcohol going down. I foiund this not to be the case and found the beer very drinkable, though a bit sweet to drink too often. Has anyone else encountered this beer from Tommyknockers?
