Hey everyone. I am new to this and have no idea why my kegerator won't work. Just bought it yesterday and set everything up. The co2 tank was filled but the pressure gauge is not showing anything. It is at 0. I tried taking it all apart and redoing it... when i take off the gauge I can hear the pressure but when I put it back on there is nothing. No beer comes out (I am assuming because the pressure is 0). Any ideas? I am starting to go crazy.

Not sure if I understand you correctly, but the gauge shows 0 psi when you have it hooked up to your keg or when it's just sitting by itself disconnected?

Yes, when it is connected. I have the tank connected to the regulator and the hose connected to the keg. The keg is tapped. The regulator reads 0. When I pull on the ring where I tapped the keg, there is no noise.

And you've twisted the handle to open the cylinder?
Also, have you tried adjusting the screw on the regulator so that it allows CO2 out? If you have the cylinder open and the regulator screw is set to a certain pressure, you should hear it release CO2 until it equalizes at whatever pressure you've set it to.

Yes I have done both of those things. I have adjusted the screw and opened the valve. Could something be wrong with the regulator that was in the box?

Sorry, those questions are akin to asking "is it plugged in?". But it seems to me that if those things are both done, you should at least be able to hear the CO2 being let out of the cylinder.

Maybe the regulator, not obvious from where I'm sitting.

sounds like your tank is empty

I just tried to start from scratch again. When I unscrew the regulator from the tank you can hear the CO2 coming out. But when I put it back together, I still get nothing on the gauge. Is it possible to have it screwed on too tight? I did confirm that the washer is in place. I did the soapy water test and I do not see any leaks. At this point, I am thinking I was given a defective regulator??? Or maybe there is another switch to turn on? I turned the top of the tank, turned the screw and turned a valve.

do you have a valve after your regulator, where your tubing goes? (like the one on the bottom of this pic (http://www.superprod.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=523442&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=147057)) it's possible that the check valve portion of that secondary shutoff valve is stuck. give it a couple of gentle taps, maybe it'll work itself loose. normally when regulators go bad (tonight on Fox, "when regulators go bad!!!") they allow too much co2, not none at all.

unless it's a Haier, then all bets are off...

Thank you. I'll try that. Yes, it's a Haier. :(
